Agriculture
Agricultural Sector Overview
The agricultural sector plays an important role in renewable energy production by generating diverse organic residues, including crop leftovers, food processing byproducts, and manure. These residues can be effectively processed to produce valuable biogas, consisting of methane and carbon dioxide (CO2). By converting this biogas into renewable natural gas (RNG) and bio-CO2, farmers can create additional revenue streams while contributing to sustainability goals. DMT provides advanced solutions that facilitate the efficient conversion of biogas, supporting the agricultural industry in maximizing its energy potential and reducing waste.
Agriculture & Livestock: Biogas Upgrading
DMT demonstrates proven experience in the agricultural industry, having pioneered the construction of a biogas upgrading plant using high-selective membrane technology in the United Kingdom in 2012. Agricultural residues, such as crop leftovers and livestock waste, serve as ideal sources for biomethane production through anaerobic digestion. This process transforms waste streams into biogas, which can then be upgraded into biomethane, a renewable energy source.
Biogas from Manure: A Sustainable Solution
DMT provides a sustainable solution by producing biogas from manure, offering livestock farmers an alternative source of energy. Through the anaerobic digestion process, manure is converted into biogas, which can be used for renewable energy production. By converting manure into energy, DMT helps achieve both economic and environmental benefits, including a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. DMT has successfully realized projects that produce Bio-LNG from biogas, further enhancing the sustainability of manure as a resource.
